I'm a mom to several children with special needs who are mostly all grown (24 yo with autism, mental health needs, diabetes and asthma), ADD/ADHD, former foster carer so worked with children with a wide range of needs, currently a respite caregiver and community support person for an adult with developmental and cognitive disabilities, as well as working for several years as an in home caregiver for adults with disabilities or age related infirmities or limitations, providing community and in home supports with ADLs etc. I also previously worked as an advocate and peer mentor for families with children with special needs, helping them navigate and access care and services. I was formerly a CNA although I have not been licensed for several years but completed that training as well as an additional year of nursing school beyond. I'm currently 1st Aid and CPR certified.
