Though my main position has been either a nanny or tutor, while performing these roles, I was responsible for providing care to children (and one adult) with special needs ranging from ADHD, autism, apraxia, ODD, GAD, seizure disorder, severe food allergies, chronic low blood sugar, etc. Therefore, I am well versed in the patience, compassion, and creativity required to handle such a role. Thinking outside of the box and being flexible on your feet are essential in such circumstances, both skills I learned while being a nanny (and often of special needs children.
