In 2004, I completed the nurse's assistant program and soon after that, I was a nanny for a family with one child for almost 5 years. I decided to go back to school for my degree in early childhood education and graduated in December of 2012. While in school, I nannied/babysat for many families and also worked part time as a teacher's assistant. I have many years of experience working with children in a number of different settings and ages ranging from birth to 7 years old. While in nursing, I was placed in a children's hospital and worked with sick infants as well as teenagers suffering from chronic diseases. For my student teaching, I asked for a Special Education placement and was assigned to a mixed preschool classroom with students who were developmentally delayed, speech delayed, and bilingual. I also cared for and worked one on one with my cousin who was diagnosed as developmentally delayed at the age of 2 and now at the age of 5 has been diagnosed with Aspergers. I have really enjoyed and been lucky to have so many different opportunities to work with and care for children of many different ages and different needs.
