Working with special needs kids is ultimately a goal of mine in the future. In the past, I have worked with children and adults with special needs including autism, down syndrome, severe learning disabilities, asperger's, ADHD, ADD and dyslexia. My experience also includes working with and caring for individuals with mental, emotional and psychical disabilities as well as at-risk adolescence. In part of completion towards my degree I had the chance to work in a non-profit shelter with special needs kids, where I received over 70+ hours of in class training, adding to my formal education. Outside of the nonprofit, I also worked in public and private preschool programs that involved caring for special needs children ages infant-6. My passion is driven from my family. My nephew was born with special needs, but it's not stopping him from living his best life everyday. My experience with special needs kids has been nothing but positive.
