Nick worked for us as an afterschool caregiver for a year, and was excellent--I highly recommend him. We hired Nick when our kids were at the tail end of needing childcare--11 and 13--but we needed an extra set of hands. My son--often a tough customer--adored Nick, his cool older buddy. Nick had a great way with both my kids (girl and boy); at their ages they didn't need a ton of supervision, but he supported them with homework and engaged them in the stuff they were interested in. Nick was great at finding fun activities for my son (and friends) to do on all of those days off school. Nick was game for the evolving nature of the job and great in all of the different roles we threw out him, from tracking down hard-to-find plumbing parts to cooking family dinners to dog walking. He was very responsible (always on time, gave ample notice in the rare occasions he had a conflict), flexible (able to work longer days when needed, stay for weekend when we went away), and a general dealer. I never had a reason to question his judgment and appreciated his positive attitude and creativity.
