About Nicholas

I'd describe my personality as cheerful, kind, and positive. I like tutoring because I find it very fulfilling to help people learn new things, and/or help them grow their knowledge and mastery of a particular subject. I'm looking for a job that allows me to share my knowledge and skills with students who are excited and eager to learn. I am new to tutoring, but I have many years of experience as an experiential outdoor educator. From summer camp to university-level outdoor programs, to search & rescue courses for river professionals, I have been a teacher for over 10 years. In my spare time, I like to whitewater kayak, cook, play guitar, read, write, and ski. One thing you should know about me is I am really good with kids. I can strike the balance between keeping learning fun, relaxed, and low pressure with the discipline and focus that is required to learn. My skills include patience, accommodating to various learning styles, and making learning fun.
