I am caring for a special needs baby who was born prematurely. She has a condition that stops her from full range of use of her appendages and prevented her from eating or speaking through her mouth. I have worked with her like a physical therapist to practice using her extremities, and over the past month she has finally learned to start feeding herself. I love this work because it is so rewarding seeing the smile of the family and the baby herself, when we can accomplish something new together that the child could not do before!
