Nekolia has cared for my mother since August 2013, when my sister hired her through Care.com. My mother has Alzheimer's, and cannot speak for herself so it was very important to hire someone who could be trusted to treat her well even when no one else was around to monitor the level of care. I may sound like I am exaggerating, but I sincerely believe that Nekolia is an angel. She has treated my mother as her own for three years, and quite frankly, I now think of her as a sister. The peace of mind I have had knowing that my mother has received such amazing care is priceless. I truly love this woman. I found out less than two weeks ago (October 6th, 2016) that my mom is now dying of stage four endometrial cancer. I think I would have fallen apart had I not had the support of Nekolia. She has spent nights in the hospital, and now that my mom is back in my home, she has actually moved into my home (temporarily leaving her husband and home to make my mother her priority) and cares for my mother while I am at work, so that my mother does not have to die in an institution. I am writing this through tears because I truly do not know what I would have done without her. I know that when my mother dies Nekolia will be losing her job, yet not once has she decreased her level of care even with the stress of knowing that she will lose this job in a relatively short period of time. I will happily speak with anyone who is thinking of hiring Nekolia as a caregiver for someone he or she loves. I may talk your ear off by offering specific examples of how Nekolia has been a saint in the lives of my family members, but I can promise you that you will never have to doubt that your loved one is receiving a level of care that is unparalleled. I could never afford to pay Nekolia what she is worth; she is invaluable, and I have grown to love her like she is a sister.
