I'm sure this caregiver is excellent when working with children. I hesitate to speak with her further or hire her due to the fabricated information she has published. The basic trait of a person's integrity is being truthful. The compensation package I offer the caregiver's working with my daughter include top pay (not $10), 2 weeks per year paid vacation, 2 cash bonuses yearly, and the opportunity (if they are interested) in accompanying us on cruises, vacations which we pay for completely, in addition to paying them their regular salary. We are researching also creating a retirement plan for those that are with our family 5+ years. The jobs my husband and I are blessed with allow us to pay caregivers well. As with any interview, the employer that is hiring will first offer the lowest salary the applicant has listed, which in Nate's case was $10. Lastly, cerebral palsy is caused by hypoxia during the birth process, therefore, no two individuals are the same. Each has different challenges. The client she currently has sounds as if they are more involved than our daughter. This is something everyone assumes about disabled and physically challenged individuals. It's a myth that cheats these talented individuals out of a full life. Lastly, as a professional nurse in healthcare management, when helping employees with conflict resolution, the employee being untruthful always feels the need to advertise and "explain" their side of the story. This is a dead giveaway who is at fault. I have found this to be true 100% of the time. In this unfortunate incident, Nate has continually explained her "story" without much thought or knowledge of the actual truth. I am sure she is a fantastic caregiver, and would have been a great asset to my daughter since they are the same age. But as things continue to escalate, I have realized, that this would not be a good fit for our family.
