I have been employed as a caregiver for 17 years. I have cared for many people with different needs including a teenager with Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy and a young adult with the same diagnosis. The latter person could only crawl, I had to lift her at times. I have recently been caring for a non-verbal young adult with Autism and an 8 yr old who is also Autistic. Although challenging, I enjoyed them and that aspect of care-giving. I am great at what I do and have a heart for people. I also love animals and have had to care for many of them along with the people in my care.
