I've been care taking for many years. I have work with many different types of seniors. I've cared for a 95 year woman (E) who was legally blind, and had a tough time hearing. I also worked for her son who had Parkinson's, and was 75 years old (R). I helped tidy both their houses, took them to their doctor appointments, helped them get dressed, etc. I also cared for a senior (T) with MS, tasks included transferring him from the bed/bath/toilet/etc. into his chair, dress him, get his breakfast, drive him to his appointments, office, etc. I've recently worked with two different seniors (D and N)that both have had brain related illnesses (1 with dementia/Parkinson). I am currently working with (N) twice a week. Duties include cleaning the house, breakfast, assistance with getting dressed, making sure pills are being taken in time, etc. I got into care taking because it reminded me of the times I would assist in care for my grand parents, and I miss them both dearly.
