I'd describe my personality as level headed, playful, and positive. I like caring for people with special needs because I am AuDHD (Autistic and ADHD) so I can understand the needs of other disabled people on a deeply personal level. Working with disabled children brings me joy because I know I am helping each individual reach their fullest potential by providing necessary support and aid. I started caring for people with special needs in 2022. My first Special Education job was at a rural public school in Northern Minnesota where I was the paraprofessional for a Setting 3 Lower Elementary classroom. My second Special Education job was at a SpEd focused charter school near Minneapolis, Minnesota. I worked as a paraprofessional in the high-support Setting 3 Kindergarten room. My skills include assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) at various levels, staying calm in escalated situations, and using alternative communication such as PECS boards, visuals, and AACs.
