I have over 25 years in special education field as a special day class teacher and Educational Specialist. I am an advocate for students to receive the services they need to be successful and empowering parents to be their child's advocate. I've raised a child with multiple special needs who is now a successful college student. I have high expectations and believe every child can succeed to reach their learning potential. I'm empathic towards the challenges parents face in the school system. I tailor individual education programs to a child's IEP goals and individual needs. I am passionate about early intervention, involving parents in the education program, and making learning fun. I understand the IEP process as a parent and special education teacher. I have high expectations because I've seen as a parent the benefits of early inventions and advocating for students who need different ways to be taught and the importance of making it engaging and fun.
