Palany started with my mother in July until the beginning of Sept 2023. The only reason we had to let her go was because we were finally granted free hours of caregivers from the county. My mom is mostly disabled and is somewhat cranky by nature but Palany took very good care of her. She got her up from bed early in the morning, washed/bathed her, dressed her, made her breakfast, did her laundry, and kept my mother's surroundings clean and orderly. She also did small things that matters a lot to a disabled person. She'd adjust her recliner so the sun didn't hit my mom's face,use care dressing her around her pained shoulder, consistently remember to hide medication my mom needed but refused. But, most of all, Palany is such a sweet, gentle presence, she kept my mom calm. There were times my mom could be rude, and abrasive but Palany took it all in a calm manner. The job was not an easy one. Bearing the weight of my mom during transfers alone was difficult, not to mention the early start hours but Palany never complained, and just did the task that was needed consistently. She was also very helpful for my father though he was not officially in her care. I will always be very grateful for the time she took care of my mom and regretful that we could not continue.
