I have worked at a weekend and summer long respite camp with campers ranging from all ages and disabilities. I have also volunteered throughout my high school years in the special needs classrooms during my lunch time. At camp we did everything to insure the campers were happy and comfortable. I handled meals, toileting, showers, personal hygiene, and transfers. At camp we did everything from horse back riding, canoeing, roasting marshmallows, to singing karaoke. I love seeing them smile and engage in activities they have never experienced before.

Mykel is a GEM. If you have the opportunity to hire her, you should! She is calm, flexible, and very dependable, found creative projects and activities, and had an intuitive understanding of what my special needs son needed on any given day. Mykel is a regular sitter for my family when she is in town and my son really looks forward to her visits.
