Hi! My name is Mya and I'm currently a student at Winona State University. I'm in the middle of obtaining a teacher's license in math, but I have always had a passion for working with people with special needs. My mom is a special ed teacher at one of our local elementary schools, and has inspired me to love on those kids as much as possible. Whenever I am home from college, I sub as a paraprofessional in k-12 classes and I absolutely love it. I get to work with students with a wide variety of needs and help them learn in school as well. My neighbor with autism and best friend's brother with down syndrome have also given me many opportunities to care for and interact with those with special needs.
