As a family childcare owner w/23 kids a day & a homeschooling parent of 3, child education has always been a top priority. As a child, I struggled with reading, until my parents hired a reading tutor. I was in 5th grade, reading 2nd grade level. My tutor helped me to gain confidence daily. When we finished I was reading at college level. I love to read! Phonics! Phonics; the best way to learn to read for both child & adult. Teaching my 4 yr old to read before going to Kindergarten has been such "Aha" moment. As a result she excelled in school. My nephew (age 10) was lost in the system, reading 1st grade level, in 5th grade. Six months of homeschooling w/our family & he was reading at 6th grade level. Today, my children are adults & now I have the privilege to assist in home schooling my grandchildren, teaching them to read through Phonics as well. Partner with me & learn to love reading!
