When I was in high school, I had been involved in the Special Needs department for almost 2 and half years! I was involved in a group called Peer Partners and helped the kids in their gym activities. Later on I ended up babysitting one of my favorite kids after school. He is non-verbal and suffers a unique form of down syndrome. I love any kid just the way they are, and don't treat them any differently. Patience is key.
