First off, I thank you for looking at my profile. I understand the importance of the process of finding a competent child care provider. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can provide many outstanding references. I consider myself "Mary Poppins!" I believe in having fun and that laughter truly is the best medicine. I have worked with children of all ages. I have also had a variety of proper training. I started baby-sitting at the age of 12. My mother worked for various resorts in Destin, FL, and often I was called to baby-sit for visitors and locals who wanted a kid-free evening. I also held jobs in the child care field from the age of 17 to 25.

After corresponding with numerous applicants to be a full time nanny for our three month old son, and then meeting about a half dozen of them, I just had a gut feeling about Monica. I had the help of my Mother (who's had three children of her own and is a pediatrician)to hire the right person; and after watching Monica for three weeks, she was able to return home at ease knowing her new grandson was in good hands. Monica is a very reliable and flexible person, only missing work when she was really sick and immediately calling me even if she was running a few minutes late. With minimal notice, she's always willing to stay late, come early, change her shift, work extra days and even travel with me when my husband's and my travel schedules clashed. Monica does not only watch our son to ensure his health and safety, she nurtures and develops him just as much as we do. She does a variety of activities with him to keep it interesting and fun. We're fortunate enough to live in an area where she can walk to see and do different things, which she takes advantage of without me having to suggest it. At the same time, she's very mindful of all the things I would think about (i.e. snack time, keeping him hydrated, getting him home for a nap, staying inside when it's too hot, putting on sunblock, etc.). Although Monica is obviously skilled and experienced at childcare, she is also very conscious about doing things that we ask or suggest. You say something once, and it's done without ever having to say it again. On the other hand, if she is not sure about something, she will ask. Yet, she's also very sharp and can make decisions on her own without asking about every little thing. She strikes a perfect balance between them all. I could go on and on. Monica has been with us for over a year now but due to a job transfer, we will be moving overseas. Our son will never realize the gift he has been given by having Ca-Ca (as he calls her) in his life. She has become part of our family and we'll be sure our son continues to know what a wonderful Aunt Monica he has! I hope your family is as lucky as ours!
