Monica was our nanny for almost 6 years and during that time played an integral part in the lives of our then 5- and 8-year-old sons. My husband and I had demanding jobs in the Seaport which meant early morning departures and 11 hour working days. Monica was punctual and reliable - I think in the 6 years she worked for us she cancelled a handful of times due to illness and always arrived on time to get the boys dressed, fed and driven to school. In the afternoons she would pick them up from school, give them a bite to eat, take them to extramurals/appointments and ensure homework got done. She would help out with a little grocery shopping and even getting dinner started on those exceptionally long days. Monica was also great about making herself available to babysit on the weekends to enable us to have the occasional date night. I am not sure how we would have gotten through that chaotic time in our lives without Monica. Monica was not only a really good nanny, but also became, and still is, a dear friend of the family.
