About Monica

I am an expert in at-risk youth. I define at-risk as any child who is dealing with barriers that make it difficult to define, work towards, and achieve their goals during or after high school. I specialize in working with students with anxiety, depression, ODD, ADHD, autism with low support needs, limited mobility, chronic illness, previous traumatic experiences, and a variety of other impairments. I was an at-risk youth myself, which allows me to connect with some of the most misunderstood youth out there. I am now a full time educator and advisor in a nationally recognized alternative school, with English, FACS, and Art certifications. I am also certified in Healing Centered Engagement and Youth Mental Health First Aid. My entire teaching experience has been in highly diverse schools and I always employ culturally affirming methods that celebrate a student's authentic self. My mission is helping teens dream big and execute the steps to achieve those dreams.
