About Monica

Welcome! I am interested in helping students who need assistance with English language arts. My skills range from helping struggling students learn skills to develop confidence in their reading and writing abilities, to helping advanced students develop more precision in their ELA skills. I am a National Board Certified teacher with a Masters of Arts in teaching. I have taught high school English for seven years and I have taught in a middle school classroom and tutored middle school students. My strength lies in identifying where a student lies in his or her current abilities, and the. building their skill set as necessary to meet the expectations of the Maryland State curriculum.
