About Mona

I am a biology graduate and NIH researcher who will be attending Saint Louis University School of Medicine. I love going on hikes with my beagle mix, watching early 90s sitcoms, and visiting animal sanctuaries. I love going on hikes and walks with my own beagle mix! I will make sure to send pictures and videos to pet parents throughout the day of their dog enjoying the outdoors! One of the biggest lessons I have learned that has contributed to my professional growth is being able to take people (and animals) for who they are. Life became kinder when I let go of everything I wanted my dog to do, allowed myself to grieve that loss, and then just met him where he was. I have let go of expectations and began to understand that some of his behaviors are caused by anxiety of the unknown, a reason that also explains much of human behavior as well.
