I have been working with children and adults with special needs since my freshman year of high school. I was the president of the Best Buddies club at my high school for two years (Best Buddies club is an inclusive club for those with and without disabilities to hang out together). I am also a part of this club at my college. My senior year of high school, I was a peer mentor, where I was assigned a buddy with special needs and helped her in her classes twice a week. I also partook in sewing and yoga classes for high school students with special needs, assisting them so they were able to be in these classes. I have been doing Special Olympics for four years now. I usually partake in the Young Athletes program, where I help children aged 2-7 years old that have special needs engage in sports activities. I was also an inclusion aide at a summer camp last summer, where I helped care for campers with special needs. I have also babysat one girl with special needs for a number of years.
