My grandma became ill in 2014 after a massive COPD attack. An anoxic brain injury progressed her early stage dementia gravely. She was placed in a nursing home and lived there for her final 2 years of life. During that time, I was very active and involved in her care and well being. I also done lots of research into dementia and elder care and learned ways to communicate, help with anxiety or fear, and just be with them to ensure they are safe and not alone. I am very passionate about the elderly and their care and would love to have this opportunity. Also, I have 2 boys, 3 and 14, who are also very compassionate and caring to our elders and they love opportunities to be involved.
