Hello! My name is Mildred and I am interested in working as a life skills/job coach. I have extensive experience working with developmentally disabled clients whose diagnoses included Down's Syndrome, Autism, Asperger's, etc. The capacities in which I have assisted this population include: providing guidance and training to foster independence in work-related skills, ethics, and behaviors with the goal of normalization, self-sufficiency, and integration within the community. I have also provided instruction on practical living skills within the group homes that include assistance with cooking, grocery shopping, balancing a checkbook, laundry, etc. I am a certified special education and hold an MA degree in education. I have taught at the Allegro school for Autistic children and have also taught ESL, students with ADHD, perceptually & neurologically impaired, and emotionally disturbed students.
