About Mildred

I took care of my mom for over 10 years. She had congested heart failure and was on dialysis three times a week. I also cared for my husband, who passed in 2004 of lung cancer. I recently cared for my neighbor, giving her baths and meals. She had a stroke and her left side foot, hand, and arm was completely disabled. I have taken classes, most recently CPR/First Aid. I have taken classes for working with someone with Dementia and cared for a dementia client for several years. In addition to the above, I have taken classes in: Working with Someone with Dementia: Environmental and Communication Strategies Training, Meal Planning and Shopping: Home Skills Enhancement Training, and Assisting Someone with Dementia: Distressing Behaviors. My most recent assignment was taking care of a couple. I prepared their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also cleaned their house and kept them company. I helped them with their medications. I took them to their doctors' appointments.
