About Mikayla

I'd describe my personality as organized, detail-oriented, determined. I like tutoring because I enjoy spreading my own knowledge and using it to engage learners in the rich curriculum of their subject. I find it fulfilling to be able to help others break the barriers of difficulty and frustration associated with academics that may arise. I'm looking for a job that has a consistent schedule and a communicative guardian or student. I started tutoring my freshman year of high school as a peer mentor and have continued to teach temporarily through my undergraduate years. In my spare time, I like to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with friends and family, and expand my knowledge! One thing you should know about me is that I have 4 years experience as a swim instructor which has strengthened my ability to teach. I also have medical experience and have earned my EMT license and am currently BLS CPR/AED certified. My skills include algebra, pre-calculus, grammar and writing skills.
