I am very passionate about special needs children. Their complexities are intriguing and challenging to me. I am eager to learn and participate as much as I can. My care is comprised of infants and toddlers with Aspergers, delayed development, medically fragile, premature, sensory integration disorder, and speech delayed. I created and maintained a predictable routine for the children. This way they knew what to expect and could ease into it comfortably. I was active in various therapies which encompassed, occupational, physical, speech, and ABA. (Applied Behavioral Analysis.) In working with autistic children; I provided various activities to exercise and strengthen core muscles, fine and gross motor skills. I sprinkled in all kinds of fun tactile activities too (finger painting with shaving cream, playing with rice, bare feet in grass or sand, etc.). I spent the day exploring, experiencing and learning through whatever medium the child responded to that day!
