About Michelle

Hi I'm Michelle! Im currently a PhD student at the University of Vermont. I have 12+ years of experience working with children ranging from infancy to teenage in a variety of settings. In high school, I babysat after school 5 days a week for two children ages 2 and 5. Throughout undergraduate, I substituted several times a week at the Amherst Montessori School in classrooms with ages ranging from 6 mo-13 yrs. My last semester, I served as a long-term sub working full-time for the Montessori Toddler classroom (ages 1-3). During my time substituting, I babysat for several families I met through the school. Before starting graduate school, I was a full time nanny for 3 boys ages 3 months, 3, and 6 in Seattle. Here in Burlington I babysit several of my professor's kids. I incorporate Montessori philosophy, yoga, and mindfulness into my care giving. As a PhD student in an environmental field, I absolutely love the outdoors and educating children about the wonders of nature!
