Michelle cared for my 2 cats for a couple of months. My one cat is diabetic so it was very important to me that I find someone who is familiar with the process of giving insulin injections. Michelle assured me that she could and that she had many tricks for cats who liked to hide to get them out. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I thought everything was ok. My boyfriend and I planned my birthday weekend in Lancaster which is an hour and 15 minutes away bc Michelle assured me she would be here and not to worry. We left on Friday afternoon, my birthday and everything was set to go. Upon arriving back from dinner on Friday night, I got a call from Michelle that she couldn't get my cat out from under the bed. This perplexed me a little bit because she claimed to have no issues before. I reluctantly told her to go and advised her to call me on Saturday morning if she had a problem again. I understand cats can be temperamental so I was nervous about him missing a dose of insulin but I understood. I was a nervous wreck all night. The next morning at 7 am, I got a text from Michelle saying that the roads were covered in ice and she couldn't get to my house. The problem with that is, there was no ice on the roads in Lancaster or in Delaware County. The roads were bone dry. Knowing this, I still gave her a chance to head over a little later and she said that she didn't see any salt trucks on the road. There were no salt trucks because there was no ice. Needless to say, my boyfriend and I had to cancel our entire weekend and come home so I could give my cat his shot. Michelle never followed up to see how he was and at the end of the weekend just simply asked for her pay. I paid her $35 an hour and she tried to tell me I paid her $40. I sent a screen shot of our agreement and reluctantly paid her for the time she was here. I also asked her to get my house key back to me because I no longer needed her services. That was on Jan 5. It is now Jan 14 and I never got my key back. When I confronted Michelle, she claims she mailed it- I never received it. When I questioned her, she said she didnt have time to talk to me. I want to warn people out there that Michelle isn't dependable and left my cat without his insulin not seeming to care as there was no follow up. For anyone who loves their pets as much as I do, think twice before hiring her. She managed to ruin a weekend that was planned for awhile and more importantly, left a cat without his injection. He could have died. Thank goodness we made it back in time. I usually don't write reviews but I think this is important enough so no one else has to experience this.
