One of my favorite jobs ever was taking care of a young lady who had autism. I prepared her meals, helped her with crafts, puzzles and books. We would dance, go for walks, picnics, paint her nails and assist her with household chores like laundry and dishes. I loved her and she loved me. I would have stayed at that job forever but we relocated to NC from PA. This job was through a company. Prior to working there, I worked for another company at home. I provided care for a lady in her late 80's. I took her to her appointments, did medication reminders, helped with light housekeeping, helped her get dressed, helped her with her flower garden and most importantly loved her and took care of her like she was my grandmother. I was with Grace for 3 years. For over a decade I also worked on weekends at a boarding school for disadvantaged youth. While at a the school I provided care for 10-12 teen girls. I mentored them, prepared their meals, dispensed meds, helped with homework, got them involved with community service, and taught them how to cook and bake. My family also prepared me to work with children. We had a blended family of 5 children then adopted a special needs little girl. I love being a mom and a "young" grandma. I have had all my background checks including FBI fingerprints. I am a responsible, reliable loving person. I would love to take care of your loved one as if they were my loved one.
