I am not a nurse- I don't know how to remove it. I do have a van with a wheelchair ramp for going on outings! I'd describe my personality as empathetic, kind and loving. I like caring for seniors because I love to see their eyes light up. I enjoy listening to their stories, even if it's the same one! I'm looking for a job where I can be of service to the person and the family and hopefully make everyone's lives a little better as a result of my being there. I started caring for seniors when my sweet mother was diagnosed with dementia and my dad needed help. It began with me tenderly giving my mom a shower. In my spare time, I like to read, take my puppy for walks in the woods, yoga and going bicycling. I enjoy visiting with my dad, my children and especially my 2 1/2 grandchildren! : ) One thing you should know about me is that I follow a meal plan. I usually pack my own food and bring it My skills include patience, reliability and a positive attitude.

Michelle lovingly cared for my wife who suffered a stroke and faded into dementia until her death three years later. She took care of "ALL" of her bathroom needs, including showers accompanied with "oldies music". Michelle took my wife out to lunch-or made it-cleaned up dishes and the food area afterward. Michelle kept her engaged, played cards with my wife when she was able, viewed and sorted family pictures for scanning and distribution to others. Decorating for holidays, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July was a special skill. The living area was always "in season." As dementia increased Michelle planned for and was essential in executing multiple moves, downsizing, and "settling in" after. A special treat was lovingly doing her hair and make-up before church. My wife's personality emerged and she beamed at the inevitable compliments. Michelle made an extremely deep impact on my wife's ending days, turning a fading existence into a special sparkling end-of-life delight!
