I have over 30 years of experience working with children and adults with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities. I've worked with senior citizens as a caregiver and with children and adults providing respite care. Some of my experience includes working in a hospital rehabilitation, adult day care center and in-home environments. My duties consist of assisting the individuals with activities of daily living, assisting with meals, house cleaning, taking clients shopping or to doctor appointments and companionship. I've also had an amazing career as an instructional assistant working for major school districts in Sacramento and the Bay area. I worked in special education, including teaching independent living skills to teenagers and young adults. I love this field of work and feel I have the compassion and patience needed to do so. I've always had the ability to build a rapport with the individuals I've worked with, their families and my coworkers.
