Caring for seniors is an enjoyable challenge for me. It's not just about meeting their physical needs but also creating meaningful relationships. I began caring for seniors when I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in social work and initially worked in a skilled nursing facility with residents needing Alzheimer's and dementia care. About 3 years ago I re-entered the senior care arena providing one on one care. My interest in caring for senior citizens is rooted in a desire to honor their lives and promote their well-being. My experience includes assistance with daily activities such as running errands, meal preparation, medication management, light housekeeping, dressing and personal hygiene, as well as providing companionship and emotional support. I can provide transportation as needed. I am available for overnights 1-2 days a week. I am so grateful that Michele was one of my mother's caregivers during the last months of her life. She was attentive, caring, kind, considerate, respectful, and gentle to our mom. Michele worked day shifts primarily in our mother's home, but was with her the few days she was in the hospital. She arrived to work promptly and carried out her duties with a happy heart. Her duties at home included helping Mom in the bathroom, preparing and serving simple meals and snacks, helping with laundry, keeping a watchful eye as Mom walked about with her walker, and making sure Mom took her medications according to the nurse's instructions. Michele interacted well with Mom, other caregivers, medical staff and family members. She is tops!
