I am very passionate about caring for children with disabilities because I also have a disability. I have epilepsy. I know the emotional and physical challenges for someone with a disability. But I also know just because you may have challenges there isn't anything you can't do if you set your mind to it. I have had epilepsy for 34 yrs, starting when I was 16. It is totally controlled by medicine. I decided to become a nurse to care for children because of the physical struggles I went through. I have a 4 yr degree in Nursing from IU. I worked for St. Vincent hospital for 5 yrs and a nursing home. After that I was a preschool teacher specializing in 2yrs olds. I currently care for a senior citizen with very limited mobility due to Parkinson's disease, I am certified in Seizure Recognition, and CPR. I'm also vaccinated.
