I am a former home health aide with experience working with seniors, whether they are still independent yet need some assistance or need full assistance. I also have worked with seniors who had a stroke, Alzheimer's, and dementia. I provide great companionship and help with meals, including assisting in feeding if needed, med reminders, range of motion exercises, bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, etc. I also have experience in working with people with developmental disabilities to help them learn daily living skills and enjoy activities. I have a degree in recreational therapy and worked as a recreational specialist in a nursing home with seniors and other age groups. I had a certification with ISSA in personal training, developed exercise programs for the Recreation Department, and made them inclusive for all to participate. I continue to pursue continuing education online to help provide better service. I enjoy helping others, and, can bring joy and happiness to others.

Here's the recommendation that I just sent: I can't say enough about Michelle A.'s responsiveness, attention, and genuine care during the four years she served as my mother's aide. Although only working for my mom for from 5 to 12 hours a week during this time, Michelle has been extraordinary for being proactive and engaged, alerting me to my mother's various issues and needs--which was essential to me, since I live in Maine and can only visit sporadically. I believe it was due to Michelle's care that my mother was able to remain as healthy and independent as she has been, despite her issues with mobility and memory. If we could, we would hire Michelle full time--but my mother now needs round-the-clock care, which Michelle cannot do, given her family.
