About Mia

I discovered my passion for working with children in high school, while employed at my school district's after school care program. Since then, I have worked with Pre-K through middle school age children and am committed to helping them build emotional, social, cognitive, and intellectual skills. I believe the best way to assist children's development is to create a relationship with each child and set healthy, realistic, and appropriate boundaries and expectations. Consistent routines, positive behavior guidance based on respect and patience, and collaboration with parents is important as well. As an individual, I am active, compassionate, and always eager to bring a smile to anyone's face. In my spare time I love to read, cook, and go camping. I am MN born and raised, but I spent time in Montana for college. I am so happy to be closer to family again and in my home state! I believe that empathy is the best path forward for our world and that starts with helping children grow.
