I've always found myself in roles that involve caretaking, especially around children, and it's something that feels like a natural part of my life. Growing up in a small community with lots of kids gave me the opportunity to be involved in various caregiving roles, whether that was assisting in community programs, or just being there for the kids in my neighborhood. When I got to high school, I had the chance to expand on these skills, especially by working with special-needs children. I found that I really enjoyed the unique challenges that came with it. It was a deeply rewarding experience to create connections with the kids, understand their needs, and be part of their development. The experience taught me not only patience but also creative problem-solving, empathy, and adaptability so I've decided to continue supporting families in whatever capacity they see fit!
