About Mia

I'd describe my personality as caring, positive and hard-working. I like working with kids because I love watching them grow right before your eyes. Watching kids find themselves and discover who they are is so beautiful to see. I started working with kids when I was 16, at a summer camp for young dancers ages 4-6 wanting to learn ballet. One thing you should know about me is that I have lived on my own since I was 16 to train professionally in ballet. I am originally from Los Angeles but I moved out to Chicago at 16 to train at the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Chicago is truly a second home to me. I have been dancing professionally outside of Illinois for 3 years. This year, I am back in the city I love and taking a mental break from the dance world. My skills include comforting children when they are upset or frustrated. I have a strong understanding of emotions and different ways to help calm down. I also love playing games and keeping kids busy with fun crafts and activities!
