Most of my experience with special needs children was the experience of my sister-in-law who adopted a son. It was challenging at first but with time we have learned his behavior and have found out the best way to help him. In addition, he was not able to communicate (speak) until he turned 5 years young. Through this experience one understands there are different aspects when it comes to behavioral or learning difficulties. One has to be patient, loving, understanding and willing to take time to help children with special needs. We never know where we will be in the next year. This is because... I have worked with adults who have spinal cord injuries; where one day they went to work on their way home they got into an accident and they have never been the same. I have worked with many ADD and also different patients suffering from Parkinson, Alzheimer, dementia and understand the quality of life that each individual should have no matter his condition or disease. "Love them equally, provide the best care, and treat them right to the best of ones ability."
