Experience: 9 yrs
Being the eldest child in my family with a sister and three brothers, my childcare experience started right at home early in my life. When I would be away from them even a couple of days, I would miss them too much. Then I knew myself how much I enjoyed being with them. I started teaching kids right after I graduated my high school. Five years of teaching kids in a school even seemed too short for me. I never felt the pressure nor had a bad day with the kids. I am also the mother of two girls, one is 7 and the other is 3. Raising them became always joyful. The feedback I am getting every day from any daughters teacher keep me happy. They appreciate the way my bigger daughter behaves, talks to people, or studies. I feel proud that I have been able to shape her behavior in the best way possible. As a mom, I have learned more about children's need at the moment and also their need for further development. I have been working as a nanny for the last 9 years with both infants and toddlers. I talk to them and keep repeating until I feel they have learned what I said. Children are "copy cats". They copy your actions, the way you talk, and the words you speak. Got to be careful! I keep differently colored toys for them to play with, alphabets and numbers put up on the walls for them to see and recognize and play some music rhymes to cheer them up. I also encourages some level of outdoor activities which will strengthen child's body. I also give emphasis on "do" and "don't" and "yes" and "no" to teach them right from wrong. I will be extremely happy to share my experience with many other kids. I am also responsible for supervising children's safety, school work, nutrition, and recreation, as well as meal preparation and housekeeping including laundry, dishes, and cleaning. I am a great cook and I have my own car. Lastly, I hope to hear back from you, Thank you so much!

Menuka initially joined our family as a part time nanny to our 2 month old daughter. As a first time mom, across the country from any family, in the middle of a pandemic, I was overwhelmed and needed an extra set of hands. Menuka started coming a few days a week just to give me a hand. I was still on maternity leave, so I was able to watch first hand just how incredible she is with children and just how strongly she loved my daughter, and my daughter loved her back. I do not know how I could have done it without Menuka. She was helpful, empathetic, respectful of my authority as the mother while also making gentle recommendations. She spent her days singing, reading, interacting, doing tummy time. I learned so much from watching her and it was such a delight to watch her build a strong relationship with my daughter, and my whole family. As my maternity leave came to a close, it was an absolute no brain to bring Menuka on full time as our nanny. Menuka then worked for us full time for a year until my daughter was 15 months, when she and her family decided to move out of state to be closer to family. To say we are devastated to lose her is an understatement. Menuka has a cheerfulness and calming presence about her. She blended into our family so easily, and truly became a third co-parent with my husband and I. We have so much admiration for her. She is respectful, kind, extremely reliable, and has a real passion for her job. She has a natural connection with children, and what I admire most about her is that she doesn't see her job as simply "childcare". Rather, she approaches her vocation as a teacher. And teach she does. She is always on the floor singing songs, reading 100s of books, teaching colors, shapes etc, playing make believe, etc. I have no doubt that our daughter is thriving thanks to the purposeful and engaging care Menuka provides every day . Our daughter has a thirst for learning and exploring, and I credit Menuka for nurturing that thirst every single day. Menuka is smart, has experience working as a teacher, and she is always planning age appropriate activities and outings. Menuka helped me sleep train, she helped me start solid foods, teach our baby to walk, talk, read, and so on. She is the best and strongest addition we could ever add to our family. Our daughter agrees and is equally enamored by "Mika", as she calls her. We recently took a family trip, and every day our daughter was asking for "more Mika please". Menuka has a steadiness and gentleness about her. She's always patient. Always taking the time to explain. Always teaching, planning activities and outings etc. I can honestly say everyone in my family is better off thanks to Menuka. You will never find a better nanny. She is truly one of a kind.
