Hello! My name is Melody. I have an English degree from Rhodes college & am trained in Orton-Gillingham & Wilson teaching methods. I have experience as a nanny, preschool teacher, private tutor, camp counselor, soccer coach, & paraprofessional! I am also a proud mom to the sweetest 3 yr old boy around! My experience is with children of all ages & along a vast spectrum of learning abilities, most with autism or ADHD. I enjoy adapting to each child & love letting children teach me about the activities they enjoy. By doing so I'm able to help them foster their passions. I am a huge advocate of growth mindset teachings ! I believe in the concept of not teaching the material, but teaching the *child*. Understanding that key difference is what has helped me grow and develop better teaching & connection strategies over the years. Melody tutored my daughter with ADHD during her summer break and she was very in tune with her needs. As a child with ADHD my daughter loses focus easily; however, Melody knew exactly what to do to get her back on track. She had a variety of creative activities that taught her well. Moreover, she was ahead of her class when school started the next year. I would highly recommend Melody!
