About Melissa

Hi there! I am interested in working with elementary school children in reading and reading comprehension. I have a degree in literature from George Washington University and a Master's degree from New York University in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently working as a psychotherapist in Manhattan. I have a true love of reading and writing and love working with kids. I am also a mother of 3 teens! I'd describe my personality as patient, enthusiastic, fun I like tutoring because I love working with kids and helping them discover the joy of reading. I'm looking for a job that feels meaningful and one where I can help children gain confidence in reading and in themselves. I started tutoring when I was in college. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my 3 kids, cook, read and find fun adventures in NYC. One thing you should know about me is I enjoy getting to know people and hearing their stories. My skills include reading, writing and editing.
