About Melissa

I'd describe my personality as compassionate, responsible, optimistic. I like working with kids because it allows me the opportunity to contribute to their growth. I get so much happiness out of seeing kids who are having fun and allowed to be their authentic selves. I believe it's important for a child's development to have someone who can be kind, understanding, empathetic, have fun, create a safe space for them and also set boundaries when need be. I started working with kids over 20+ years ago. I worked for many years in a children's department at a library. I have performed many story time and craft programs for children of various ages and supervised an after school facility thought my job, where we had children of various ages as well. In my spare time I like to be in nature as much as possible, long walks or hikes, I also enjoy taking pictures, antiquing and spending time with my family. My skills include patience, positive reinforcement, as well as making things fun!
