Hi! I have been working with children (as young as 2 years) with Special Needs, and giving private lessons for over 20 years now. As a former teaching fellow, with certification in working with students with Autism, training in Orton Gillingham, core knowledge in ABA principals, PT, and OT, having taught at the Quad Preparatory School, I am uniquely qualified to work with students of all ages and abilities. I consider myself an advocate not just for my students, but their families as well. I am aware of how difficult it can be finding the right school and getting services. My teaching style is student guided, and hands on whenever possible. My work is both behavioral, and academically oriented, of course, tailored to your child's specific needs. I thoroughly love my work and take pride in my students many accomplishments. Often I work with families for multiple years.

Melissa worked with our son with special needs for several years when he was in upper school. She was more than just an excellent math and humanities tutor. She is compassionate, level headed and helped our son feel confident with his abilities and gain independence. He still considers her a friend and a special person in his life. We would happily recommend Melissa without hesitation. She has a wealth of experience in life, knowledge, and desire to make her 'kids' happy and successful.
