I am a Preschool Teacher at one of the few NAEYC-accredited centers in Southwest Colorado. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and have been in the field for over 25 years. I have had many years of training in behavior and classroom management, curriculum development, and family relations. I have extensive training/experience in Administrative Support and the Colorado Child and Adult Food Program. My previous work experiences included customer service support, food service, sales staff support/ accounting, and travel. I love working and supporting the growth of young children's minds. I believe that children can do anything with the right support. I know for a fact that children can be taught to be self-reliant, self-regulated, and independent with the right social-emotional, and verbal scaffolding. It takes a village of fun, loving, and empathetic individuals to make it happen.

I am writing to indicate my full support for Melissa for any position you have open and available at this time. Melissa's teaching style is engaging and interactive, and all the children/students in her classroom walk away each day with vast amounts of new knowledge, but with the memory of having a great time while learning that knowledge. This is what makes Melissa one of the most popular teachers at our school. I have worked alongside Melissa for over four years and in that time I have learned so much from her. In fact, Melissa is always willing to take the time to discuss teaching practices or give advice to problems with any of her colleagues and/ or parents, ensuring that the rest of us are able to make the same efforts with our own students, children and families.
