About Melissa

I'd describe my personality as trustworthy. People can depend on me to show up when I am supposed to. I like tutoring because I like working one on one with a student so that they get my full attention. I started being a substitute teacher six years ago. I have worked with small groups for reading and math at the elementary school level, which is where I feel the most comfortable and confident. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family. We are highly involved with my child's sports. During the week you can find us at practices or at games. One thing you should know about me is that I am a Navy brat. Also, I'm an identical twin. My skills include being able to work one on one or working in a small group. Working one on one I can make sure I work at the child's speed. Also, I can start at the place where they need to start at. The student and I can set individual goals. Working with small groups is different. I have to find a balance where we can do the lessons.
