About Melissa

My passion for animals began in childhood - always having a dog and cat, along with various other critters (e. g. ferret, hedgehog, sugar glider, etc.). As an adult pet owner, I've been privileged to have the companionship of a cat who lived to the ripe old age of 19 and 5 wonderful dogs, 3 of which have sadly been lost to cancer. I currently have two large, mixed breed rescue dogs - one senior and one young adult. Throughout the years, I have pet sit for friends and neighbors. I also have experience dealing with various short and long term ailments/illnesses with my own pets.
