About Melissa

Hello! I'm a 32-year-old teacher with 8 years of professional teaching experience and 20+ years of tutoring/childcare/pet care work. I just wrapped up the 23-24 school year where I was a team lead opening the new River City Science Academy campus. Prior to RCSA I taught at a Duval County Public School. I earned a Masters of Education from UF (Go Gators!). I have various other education qualifications and certifications including ESOL, Science of Reading Endorsement, UFLI, Dyslexia, etc. I have experience with children of all ages but spent most of my career teaching Kindergarten. I have extensive experience in childcare and tutoring including group tutoring, learning exceptionalities/disabilities, neurodiversity (specifically ADHD and autism), tutoring online, etc. I have several ideas for summer enrichment activities like preparation for the upcoming school year, Children's Book Club, social skills, Kindergarten Readiness, etc. for families who may be interested!
